If cooling may be a problem, you probably do not want the board to be
resting on foam. The plastic is likely to degrade or it could just melt.
Either way you have a mess.
Threaded nylon spacers work well. You drill the plastic or aluminum
support plate to match the motherboard support holes and mount the spacers
to the plate. The motherboard will be easy to install or remove (in case
you need to do mods or make repairs).
Rubywand
