Paul,
I bought the SCSI-II drivers from Sequential Systems and have not been
able to get them to work with the music cds. I get an error FFFF whatever
that is. Since I don't have any music cds of my own I've never really
tried to get this to work. In the docs that came with the drivers it says
to refer to the list of known capatible CD drives but they seem to have
not sent this list. I've been thinking of calling them to get a list as I
can use this Sony CD drive in the IBM computer that I have and then buy a
drive that will work with the SCSI-II drivers for my GS.
As far as data CDs the Sony drive does an excellent drive. It reads all
of the formats. On ISO 9660 when I first put the CD in the drive it gives
me an error saying it can't read the disk and asks if I want to eject it
or format it. After selecting eject the CD icon shows up on my screen and
I'm able to access the data! If you have a Zip Chip the CD drive seems to
be as fasta a hard drive!
