There is an official port of Tetris from Spectrum Holobyte
(circa 1988) for the Apple IIgs, though it's rather weak. I was also
disappointed that the Russian-like musical scores from the arcade
version weren't present.
Quite a number of Tetris clones were written too (most freeware)
such as Tetrotrix, Tetris II, Quadomino (NDA), DuoTris, DuelTris, etc,
all of which were much better than the official version. "Tetris II"
was actually a work of Bright Software, I'm sure Henrik remembers it. :)
Personally I thought the best port was DuelTris, the final production
from DreamWorld Software. You can even disable the "extras" so it would
play exactly like regular Tetris. My only gripe was the shareware version
(1.0s) didn't let you slide pieces after they had been dropped (I'm
fairly sure Steve fixed it in 1.0r though, I bugged him to add that :)
