Function keys

Hey everybody!  I just got a nice juicy new keyboard for my GS, with 
function keys!  So, my question is, besides 'hotkeys', what other 
inits/DA's etc. are there to utilize all the function keys?  

Also, before the "powerkey" startup became standard on macs, they used to 
sell it as an external box that your keyboard plugged into, and would 
turn the system on when the 'power'/reset key was pressed.  Anybody know 
if this is still available?  I tested it once on a GS and it worked.  Of 
course, shutdown didn't work, but I figure some kind of init or DA could 
be written to fix that.  Any idea?  I'd love to have power key control, 
since my CPU is like 90 feet from the keyboard and monitor.  hehe :)
