Dungeon Master Question

I bought Dungeon Master about 3 years ago and thought it was a great game. 
I played it for a couple months but never got below level 3 . The 
other day I d/l the maps and hints off from wuarchive and thought they
were great help, Until I got to the end of level four.

My question is: At the end of level 4 if you kill the mummy which is
supposedly a prisoner can you continue. The door just past him, I cannot
seem to open. I think it might be because I did not find a key in the
level. If so where on this level is the key?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
