Required vs. recommended memory for AppleWorks

According to Scantron QC, the minimum required memory for AW 4.3 is 128K, 
for AW 5.1, 256Km  and for AWGS 1.1, 2 Megs.  That should explain why 
AWGS always bombs on my 1.25 Meg A2gs.

I have it from a well-informed source that the recommended memory for 4.3 
is 1 Meg, for 5.1, 1 or 2 Meg, and for AWGS, 4 Meg.  

Could any AW users please comment?  How much memory do you feel you need 
to run your AW configuration?
