But isn't that pretty much comparing apples (no pun intended) to oranges. 
The IBM market is huge.  The Apple market is small (and getting smaller)
and those who own/use GNO/ME are even smaller.

If I had a software product for sale, I would figure that I could get MORE
people who own that particular product to upgrade to the next version if
it were offered for a very low price than to turn them off and probably
lose them with a higher price.  You'll catch more flies with sugar than
vinegar.
