You should be booting from the "Install" disk if you want to install
the system software, not the "System.Disk" disk.

The "Install" disk has the Apple SCSI drivers on it, and it boots
straight into the Installer.

You should never use any version of Copy II+ to do any modifications
to a disk that contains files stored by GS/OS (unless you know exactly
what you are doing, and you know that the operations you will be
performing will work properly). Copy II+ is likely to damage the
directory structure if you do anything involving files that have
resource forks (or even just an extended key block).

Someone else has already posted on this detail.

Simply hold down the SHIFT key while booting (before the "Welcome to
the IIgs" box is shown - keep it held down until the message "No
Inits/DAs" appears in the box).

This will bypass loading of all of the installed INITs, CDEVs, NDAs,
CDAs and Finder Extensions.

Once you are in Finder, you can locate the offending files and disable
or remove them.
