There is a service called Pivar which converts files between just 
about any formats.  Problem is, it's expensive.

Does your friend have a serial card?  If so, she can get a null 
modem cable.  On the PC end, she should set up a terminal program 
for a direct connection, using the same parameters the serial 
card on the Apple is set to.  Set it to capture or log ASCII 
text.  Then, on AppleWriter, she can redirect printer output to 
another port, for instance:

to send output to port #3 (or whichever).  Then try to print.  If 
it doesn't work right the first time, try once more.  If all goes 
well, the captured text file will contain the story she was 
printing.  Of course, it will take some manual conversion, since 
NerdPerfect won't automatically convert all those .CJ commands to 
"center text" etc.  You may also have to play with the CR/CRLF 
translation on the PC to make it look right.  I believe that 
NerdPerfect has an option with the import text command that will 
convert CRLFs in the hyphenation zone to soft-returns.
