To decode the pictures, (and any other file that you find in non-Apple-II
Usenet newsgroups for that matter) you need the 8 bit program called
UUencode/decode 1.01 by Andy Tefft (freeware).
You should find it in the major FTP sites.
 
(Unless those pictures are in a Mac newsgroup, in which case you are doomed,
because they use another encoding format called Binhex, and there is no 8 bit
utility to handle that, but I think those are a minority).
 
As I said, that program would decode any IBM file, including GIFS _and_ JPEGs,
but unfortunately, there is no 8 bit program to view the resulting JPEG file.
There is just IIGIF, to view the GIFs.

I think grind.isca.uiowa.edu has many Binsciied files. In fact, I believe that
all the postings in comp.binaries.apple2 eventually go there.
