Not entirely true. I download ascii files to the Mac and use Apple File
Exchange to transfer them to a ProDOS 3.5 disk. The Apple II recognizes
them as text, no problem. Where the problem comes in is when the files
are downloaded as binary. Then, when I transfer them to the ProDOS disk
(using AFE), they appear as forked files. No problem; just use UNFORKIT
on the Apple to make them useable to ProDOS 8. Sometimes, I do have to
change the file types, but I did not keep a record of the sequence of
events. So, I am not sure when and why I had to do it. I use the ProDOS
EXERCISER to do that. I think there other programs for doing it.
