Sigh.  I erred in this posting--the official Chicago font ID is 65533
($FFFD)...65534 ($FFFE) is Shaston's ID.

I have no idea.  Depending on where you got the font, maybe neither one.

According to the Font Factory GS docs, A2 Central used to maintain a Font
ID Clearinghouse on Genie.  If you have access to Genie (or can send mail
to a2pro@genie.geis.com), it might be worthwhile to find out whether or not
the Font Clearinghouse still exists, and if they have a listing for
"Beffle".

Until somebody comes out with a Mac resource editor for the IIGS, your only
recourse for changing the Truetype font ID is probably a sector editor.
Truetype fonts are Mac resource files.  There are ususally two resources in
the font file--the "sfnt" resource containing the font itself, and the
"FOND" resource containing various pieces of Mac font manager data,
including the font ID.  The font ID is stored in the third and fourth bytes
of the FOND resource.  (Remember, this is a Mac resource file, so the
high-order byte comes first).

Unfortunately, in order to make use of this knowledge, you'll need to know
the layout of a Mac resource fork.  The structure of a Mac resource fork is
fully documented in _Inside_Macintosh_, volume I.  It's probably also in
one of the new black _Inside_Macintosh_ books, but I don't know which one.

Strange.  Did you use Pointless's "Delete" button, or did you just drag the
Truetype Beffle out of the font folder?
