This guy is undoubtedly talking about running Mac apps which aren't happy
when you run them on a machine with no math chip. Or sometimes an app can
crash and give you this message when it ain't so. I got netscape 1.1 to
crash my Quadra 700 with this message when I added a background GIF to my web 
page, which was a hoot since the '040 in there has the on chip math processor.
Anyhow, this guy just stumbled into the wrong group.
