I used to keep a IIe with a 1 mg RamFactor on 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, months at a time. I used the RF as a ram disk for AW, ProTerm,
ProSEL, ETC, and it was too much of a hassle to restore things every
day, so I just left it on.

I had every slot filled with things, so I'm sure there was a lot of
heat, but I also built an external keyboard, so I just left the main
case's off all the time and put it on a shelf close to the monitor.
Heck, for a while, it was on its side too.

The point is, as long as there is adequate ventialtion (which on a IIc
means keeping it propped up on its handle) you should be able to keep
it on indefinately. With no moving parts (like fans or hard drives)
and with the monitor turned off, it draws very little power (akin to a
single light bulb), so you probably won't notice anything on your
electric bill either.

If you have a good sized ramdisk, you can enjoy instant access to all
the 8bit programs you want - very convenient!
