I don't believe there is any upgrade to ROM3. To upgrade you have to buy a 
ROM3.  There are work arounds for the ROM1s though.  I have a ROM1 and I 
moved my hard disk to slot 1.  Of course slot 7 is now Appletalk.  I 
don't have an Appletalk compatible printer so my printer is hooked up to 
the modem port.  Put so is my modem.  I use a switch box to switch 
between the two.  I also have an Init  called battery brain, that allows 
me to call up the battery ram configurations to change from using the 
modem port for printing or modeming.  Another thing that helps is I have 
a 8 meg ram card and my system disk is on RAM.  It was put there by an 
Init called 'First Start'.  First Start was written by me and is 
shareware and can be found at my FTP site as mentioned in my sig.
