You should not need to change to default DIP switch settings on the IW II.
Likely your cable wiring is wrong. Also make sure, for DOS apps, you
have the mode command redirect LPT1 to COMx (whateven com port it is
attached to). If you need more data let me know. I currently use a
ImageWriter II (paper eater II) on two different PC laptops. Both in DOS
and Windows (is there a better Windows driver? The text is BAD!). I
just may be too use to my DeskJet 500.
