I have the same problem. I use Kermit as my terminal program, and Kermit
turns all VT100 display enhancements into inverse, which makes the different
kinds of enhancements indistinguishable from each other. Some terminal
software (Proterm?) lets you select which enhancements show up in
inverse. If your terminal software lets you configure this, try it--it may
help.
If that doesn't work, use this:
lynx -show_cursor
This makes lynx leave the cursor positioned at the first character of the
current link. It may not sound very exciting, but it really does make a
world of difference.
