Don't forget Prism's TrueColor function. It allows you to view
a small portion of any GIF/TIFF/IFF/etc as if you were viewing it on a
Macintosh or IBM with _real_ 8-bit+ color support. R-G-B info is not
separated as it is in SuperConvert, you actually see the image as-is,
the only drawback is only a small window area. I'm not sure how this
is accomplished, but my guess is a 3200 image flipped sideways (200
colors per scanline) and then mirrored back. This would explain why
it's 16 pixels wide, 200 pixels long. It also uses a kind of HAM
mode to do 32 pixels across in "wide" mode (thus the flicker). This
is all guessing of course... :) Still quite impressive, my brother
once scanned a photo of himself in 24-bit color on a Mac, then showed
it to me on his 486 in 32k color. I later brought the image over to
Prism and it looked nearly as good in "TrueColor" mode!

That's incorrect, SuperConvert v3.00 and v3.01 allow you to
create GIF images in 16 or 256 colors. I've loaded in multi-palette
Super-Hi-Res images and exported them as 256 color GIFs. I know the
resulting output GIF files come out okay as I've converted them on
IBMs and Macintosh systems. All IIgs palette data is preserved.
