After playing the Marathon demo (Mac) over LocalTalk against a friend, 
I think I agree, although even a 1 player Doom GS would not get stale
for me :)

Would it be possible to play against an IBM opponent with such a conversion?

Also, how adaptable is the Wolf3D engine?  Would it be possible to modify
it for new games, like Marathon?
