  These terms mean the same thing (i.e., speed = spin). A double speed
CDROM drive spins the disc twice as fast as a single speed.

  PhotoCDs are multi-use. I.e., you can go to your photo shop
and have say 5 photos put on a CD. Then you can take that CD
back later and have five more photos added to the CD.
  Of course, since CDs are write-once, there will in effect
be multiple TOC's on the disc (table of contents). The CDROM
drive has to know how to deal with this. A single-session CD drive
can only handle one standard TOC, whereas a multi-session
drive can handle the photo-CD multi-TOC format.
