Go to terminal mode in Proterm or whatever comm program you're using and type AT You should get this on your screen: AT OK If not, your modem is not responding, and may be dead. If you DO get the OK, type and recieve the following: AT&F OK AT&W OK That will set your modem to default settings and then write the settings to its nonvolatile RAM (which it probably has.)
