To get Appletalk up on a Rom 01, you need to set slot 7 to
Appletalk, and either 1 or 2 to 'Your card', so that it knows which
port to use. Then, move your Ramfast from slot 7 to either 1 or 2,
tell your GS to boot from there, and put the appletalk connection
into the printer or modem port respectively.
6.0.1's installer has a bug in it; it mistakenly installs part
of the AT software. This makes it complain on booting, even if
you're nowhere near a net. The solution is simple: look in the
system.setup folder in the system folder on the boot disk, and
delete files starting with AT, such as 'ATINIT', 'ATPrep' and the
like. (I forget which files exactly are installed; poke around
to be sure)
