[Q] Odd HD and 3.5" Activity...

I've been having these wierd instances lately where any attempt to read a
directory on my HD results in having my 3.5" drive polled. Last time it
happened, my directory bitmap was trashed, but after fixing it, it still
tends to happen, quite randomly, so it's hard to track it.
Anyone else experienced this?
(I'm using an Apple II HS SCSI with a Quantum 52HD)
