Don't know if it is possible with a IIgs, however, on my //e I:
1. removed the power supply
2. moved it outside the //e
3. reconnected to the mother board through the hole for the power cable
4. packed the hole with paper so the fan still worked properly.
The above removed a major source of heat from within my //e. I always
have believed that the //c with its "power brick" is the only way to go
with regards to power supplies for a computer.
