Yeah, I can vouch for that one. I have been very happy with ProTerm and
a 14.4k baud modem on my Apple IIgs. I have expanded my RAM to four MEGs
and use a RAM Disk (not many people on Macs or IBMs do that.) Even so, I
still have over one meg of space left over for ProTerm to use as a
Scroll-back buffer. (As if anyone's gonna use it all...that closest I've
come is only about 300k, but it's there.)
I'm kinda getting sick and tired of other people cringing when I say I
have an Apple II. And it gets worse when programmers don't recognize the
power of the GS and write the worst user interfaces I've ever seen next
to DOS...(now that's a BIG insult <grin>)
Even the guys at America OnLine don't see it. I got the Apple II version
of their demo disk and, quite frankly, it sucks. It doesn't even have an
option for 9600 baud! I mean, come on! Even the IIc and IIe can handle
9600 and the GS can use a 14.4k!
OK, there. Now I feel much better. :)
