GS Fatal Error help!

I was wondering if anyone has ideas on why I might be getting the following 
error:

Fatal System Error 0681

This happens at random times -- most often (maybe always?) recently while
using an 8-bit program that does not access GS/OS in any way (it was written
in 1980!).  I think it has also happened while using AppleWorks 3.0.

I also know the error means "Event Queue Damaged".

This error occurs maybe once or twice a month.

My setup: ROM 01 GS, 4MB RAM, 40MB Vulcan, TransWarp GS, Q-Modem 14400,
Printer, Apple 3.5, Apple 5.25 (yes I used to have a //+), joystick,
System Saver GS, SoundMeister.
