Zip Chip troubles

Oh, great.  My Zip 8000 for my //e just arrived today and it doesn't work.
All I get are bars of lo-res graphics.  Has anyone else had this problem
and gotten the chip to work?  I was using a socket extension so I could
make sure the chip was completely inserted and so I could check continuity.
The 65c02 worked fine.  The Zip worked perhaps twice and otherwise spat out
the lo-res garbage.

Does anyone have the current number and address for Zip Technology?  I called
the number in the manual and it was no longer in service.  (Arrrggghh.  The
package also didn't come with the DOS 3.3 utility disk.)

Hopefully, a replacement chip will work but I'd like to hear other peoples'
experiences.
