As far as VT100 goes, TelCom/GS is the best (and fastest). It's free and
available via ftp from cco.caltech.edu.

Currently, most people will probably agree on ProTERM. However, ANSIterm,
a GS-specific comm package seems to have a pretty satisfied user base. I've
seen ANSIterm's demo and it does indeed look like a really good package.
Further, it does ANSI emulation like no other GS program I know.

Two unreleased - but oft mentioned - GS term packages are Spectrum from 
Seven Hills and TelCom II from Procyon. I am personally holding out for
TelCom II, as I've been a big fan of TelCom/GS and GNO/ME, both from Procyon.
(Hi, Jawaid!) However, I've not seen either Spectrum or TelCom II and can't
provide much more insight about either package.
