Re: AppleWorks v4.0??
In a previous article, joko@well.sf.ca.us (Joe Kohn) says:

Don't you mean what it will be? After all, it isn't shipping yet!

Well, shut my mouth! You sound like my parents. "Plain and simple", eh?
Can you clarify why the 'system requirements' say "requires Appleworks 3.0"?
It was this particular phrase which led to the original question I posted.
Had other wording been used, perhaps the issue would never have come up.
After all, Appleworks 3.0 was itself an upgrade that incorporated some
earlier Timeout enhancements -- such as the spell checker. But I do not
recall being told that upgrade "required" an earlier version. It
certainly required _ownership_ of an earlier version if you were to buy
it as an upgrade but I think you'll agree that is a different statement.

When I bought the 3.0 upgrade I got the new manual as well. Not just a
what's new blurb.

This is what we call "brochure" performance. Promised, with the greatest
sincerity but not yet delivered. I hope you are right.

I will be saving my pennies but just to be safe I'll order after I get a second
opinion.
