Re: What's It All About, Ian?

To Richard, Frank, et al -

I apologize for my posts of a few days ago.

In many years of using a modem, it was the first time that I really "lost
my cool". I'll try to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

What upset me was not the criticism of SSII, but the remarks that all the
information is already available on the net. It almost made my publication
sound like I was plagarizing, when that's not the case at all. A lot of
what I wrote about was information that came to me through personal
contacts, phone calls, letters, private email, and in general, by using my
connections.

That's what upset me...the flippant remarks. I spent an awful lot of time
verifying the information, and do consider that first issue of SSII to be
the ultimate 1993 Apple II resource guide, with at least 80% of the
companies producing hardware/software represented, with names, addresses,
phone numbers, and descriptions of products.

So, I found the remarks to be demeaning of my work.

In any case, the only negative comments I have ever heard about SSII are
those from the two guys I sent sample copies here on the net. And, I made
it pretty clear, in SSII's masthead, that the publication comes with a
money back guarantee, and no one has asked for one yet.

In any case, I over-reacted. And, I apologize.
