There is a really easy solution: Make yourself a small cable that does
this for you. Assuming that your HD and floptical are both in a case
(is that so?), you'd buy: Say half a metre of 50-pin ribbon cable,
two 50-pin centronics-type female press-on connectors (or however
they are correctly called, I guess you know what I mean), and one male
50-pin centronics-type press-on connector. Now take your cable and press
the connectors on it like this:

f   m   f

Where f is female and m the male connector. The male goes in your last drive
in the chain, one of the females goes to the cable to the former driver,
and the other to the drive you want to attach. Be sure to get Pin 1 right
on all three connectors and the cable :) Easy to do (all you need is some
equipment to supply pressure so you casn press the connectors on), and
cheap.
