If instrument files are what you're interested in, I recommend you grab Amiga
instruments rather than Macintosh.  I've found that a lot of Amiga users digitize instruments really well, and its just a matter of ripping apart mods with
programs such as MODifier or NoiseTracker to grab them.  If non-instrument
digitized sound files are what you're interested in, well these can be found
EVERYWHERE!  Remeber, though, if you want finder sounds to work, the sound files must be sound RESOURCES.  raw data sound files can be converted into sound 
resources by certain PD sound programs, of which I can't recall the names of.
