AWGS has many limitations. A knowledgable person can work around those
limitations and do wonderful things with it...if they have the patience to
learn ;)
 
AWGS has a limitation in the Page Layout module (the module I use most) of 100
pages. The Word Processing module may have a similar limit. The largest
document I have is 97K so I don't think that is the problem. 
 
Strange as it may sound, but a bad font file can cause AWGS to crash. Have
your friend remove fonts and then add them back slowly to see if the problem
reoccurs, or if he wants to continue using AWGS, get Pointless. 
 
AWGS will get touchy in low memory situations, though I doubt that is what you
or your friend is encountering here.
 
AWGS defaults documents to standard spacing, whereas most people prefer things
in condensed mode. This can make documents many pages longer than usual, which
is probably what happened in this case. Spacing, like I refer to here, is
set in the Page Setup box.
