This is totally nuts. I myself have a 6 year old Mac II with original roms,
and everything else. I have not to this day found a Mac program that won't
run on it except some of the ~1984-85 "original mac" programs. The only
capability I don't have is virtual memory, and I could have that with a PMMU.
As for the Multiple Macs Marketing that is currently in vogue at Apple,
They're not worried about bringing out too many different models. (obviously!)
They want to increase their share of the total personal computer market, and
by all accounts they are succeeding.

ObApple2: My //e is going to be 10 years old this summer, that's a long
time for a computer. By the way, one this //e does better that the Mac
could ever hope to is telecomm. Text mode on a 1Mhz //e is much snappier
than Mac graphics. And that's especially important since I recently got
a 14.4k modem!

The master coughed and shifted his position slightly. "The lesson is over
for today," he said. +----------------------------------------------------
