I can't say what .PRINTER does, since it is a custom driver written by
Byte Works. My guess is that it does use the Pascal interface.
If you use the GS/OS generated driver for that slot (called .DEV
followed by a number, but the number will differ between systems), it
definitely uses the Pascal interface. According to the GS/OS Device
Driver Reference Manual, if a card supports the Pascal 1.1 firmware
protocol, the GS/OS generated driver will use that in preference to
the BASIC protocol.
