Ok, sounds exactly like I am working on.. so far so good..
However, you brought up 3200 color pics.. Now I have a question. How
important is it for people to be able to send grey-scale and color
faxes. I *could* implement them, but I'm not sure it is really worth
the time or effort as most fax machines out there can only handle
black and white documents. I may consider adding them as an upgrade
if I sell enough of the first version..

Ok, right now I am planning on an NDA.. Receiving faxes is
(like receving any file via telecommunications) reasonably cpu
intensive. In order to avoid loosing characters, I don't think it is
necessarily a good idea to actually do the receiving in the
background. I am currently thinking along the lines of:
Fax program is set to auto-answer, fax program checks
everyonce in a while to see if we have a ring on the line. If so,
then it (possibly asking the user if it is ok first) picks up the
line, and then takes over the machine, receives the fax and then goes
back to waiting..
