Concentrate on B/W first, that's all I want at the moment. I am happy if I
can send FAX.

Naww, don't ask the user ... and bg would be cool, too. I don't want
to lose all my FAXes because the machine is not in FAX mode at the moment,
I am asleep or at the movies, or just tied up or whatever :)

If I were to use my modem to FAX too, you can be sure that the people I
FAX too would _not_ call me first to make sure that they can send me a FAX.
I mean, that's the whole point about it, being able to receive FAX when
you're _not_ at home.
