I've had the same problem with a few types of labels... I have 25-year-old 
floppy labels that stick perfectly well and brand new labels that don't 
stick at all. I assumed the adhesive was the problem since address labels 
etc are generally meant to stick on paper.

As it happens I just picked up a bulk pack of generic shipping labels that 
seem a little more tenacious... I'll slap a few on floppies and report 
back.
