I agree. Here is the state of affairs on my end:

1. VGA part works well with all 2+ modes and 80 col text mode.
I just realized that the double hi-res graphics is not implemented. Hope 
to add this in the next day or so.

2. MMC/SD card is far from perfect, in particular the software driver.
I was hoping to get some help from the community but I guess it's hard
with no hardware in the wild.
The way my soft CPU always goes into image selection on reset if an SD
card is inserted is not very nice. I want to add a condition for that
to happen: a jumper on 2 pins of the external connector. Could easily
be wired to a physical switch of some sort.
