My crankiness was because others had a copy of PROTERM but I didn't. For me
who also contributes to making things better Hugh's request that his patch
be tested was in my nature to want to do. My frustration was despite the
fact that PROTERM had been declared freeware he was unwilling to provide a
test version of the patched program. The biggest companies in the world
provide me with non-disclosures and software that is not freeware so this
seemed unusual.
Since last year I posted messages in the 16sector support forum expressing
my interest and also in here. Unfortunately the communication was not great.

I phoned Jerry last year already and I was prepared to buy PROTERM at that
time. The communication was that I would be able to get a copy soon and
probably wouldn't need to buy-it and that he was talking to Tony Diaz.
I don't think Tony jumped the gun by saying this would be available.
I am happy to finally have a copy.
I don't think that elitism is quite the right word. Certainly fellowship
isn't either. Lack of transparency comes to mind but that doesn't fit the
other shoe (the one I pissed on).
