At that time, I remember we were short on time to complete the
game. We had everything to mix together : 65816 game code + GS/OS API
(memory, disk access) + Music (digitalized sounds + MidiSynth music).

It was our first try around the MidiSynth and the mix Tool / No
Tools coding raised few questions. Sometimes, the MidiSynth seemed not
to stop properly. I don't remember the details but Joe (Kohn) had
reported bugs using the game with his Transwarp. We have never
experimented such errors, but because of the lack of large audience
test, we have added few lines in the documentation to tell people they
could switch off music if they were encountered any suspicious errors.
With more time to spend on that issue, we would have probably been
able to fix it. We will never know :-)

For less CPU consuming software like Adventure games, Midi Synth
is probably the best answer we can get. At Lemmings time, we used them
because it was the easiest choice for music conversion to the IIgs. We
have taken the midi files from the PC version (they were good quality)
and the sounds from the Mac version. Graphics were taken from the
Atari ST for the main part (sprite, background) and from the Amiga for
the Title screen.
