If it doesn't eject under program control either, that is almost certainly the result of the grease on the eject mechanism hardening. If it ejects under program control, but not when the eject button is pushed, then it's either the eject switch (including the plastic part that "presses" it) or one of the wires going to it. -michael AppleCrate II: An Apple II "blade server"!
