One thing that can be done for  developers/contributors is to have an
"anonymous alias" in the directory. Anyone that wants to contact a
developer would have to be registered themselves (a light deterrent in
itself) and the site itself handles actual email delivery (so no one
can be directly "spammed" or given a hard time for not finishing a
project).


The site could also host a protected Subversion repository for code
artifacts, docs, and releases (if Subversion is wanted I volunteer to
admin/maintain it).
