I'd like to propose the creation of a developer's directory.
As the operator of A2Central, I am on occasion, privvy to various projects in
the community -- some of them are secretive, others are not... but in some
instances, a few of the projects are out to accomplish similar, if not the same
exact goals. Some people have a project but would like to get help developing
it further.
What I'd like to do, for those who wish to participate, is simply list the
projects on a page on A2C, with links to the project page, CVS, etc so that
people who want to help can find you eaiser. Obviously people who like to "go
things alone and do it their way" won't care but in other instances, it may be
beneficial to pool resources to cut time and costs getting a software or
hardware project out to the community.
At KFest, I was able to put a couple of people together who I knew were working
on similar projects... yet neither person knew about the other. Since then,
they've began collaborating on something very cool that I hope will be
announced before the year is out. But if either had continued to work alone,
the product may have been delayed years or never been finished at all.
If you have a project - hardware or software - and would care to have it posted
to A2C's site, just send me a link to your project page and or CVS and a short
description of your goal(s).
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
