the arp -a didn't work.
The only thing I get is MAC address 162 LBS only....huh?? Not sure
what this means...my router also needs a much longer number then 162.
I see that in the Link Layer in GS/OS and also in Contiki.
I sure hope that Glenn Jones pop's on to fill me in.
Not having a MAC addy on the card goes against the book
completly...never seen it in my life...but this may be a first..

The "162 LSB only" seems be the 'least significant byte' of the MAC
address, in decimal.

I took a look at uip/uther-drv.c in the Contiki source and found this:

static const struct uip_eth_addr addr =
  {{0x00,0x0e,0x3a,0xa2,0xa2,0x00}};

It would seem only the last byte is configurable, with the default
setting being 162, or A2 in hex. So the default MAC for the Uthernet
with Contiki would be 00-0E-3A-A2-A2-A2.

Hi Tom, thanks for posting that information.

The Uthernet Link Layer and Contiki do share the same MAC address set in software. The last byte was made configurable in case someone had more then one Uthernet card on the same LAN.
