The Smartport software interface was first documented in the "Apple
IIc Programmer's Guide to the 3.5 ROM". This information was then
incorporated into the "Apple IIc Technical Reference Manual (includes
UniDisk TM 3.5 ROM Listings)".
The Extended Smartport interface was described in chapter 7 of the
"Apple IIGS Firmware Reference" and the Additional Smartport calls
were described in the "Apple IIGS Firmware Reference 1 MB Apple IIGS
Update".
The physical Smartport (using the IWM chip connected to the D19F
connector) was first described in a Smartport Technical note and then
on pages 157-167 of the "Apple IIGS Firmware Reference".
