This seemed suiting for the same thread.
Where do I find info on the smartport interface? Ie both protocol and
physical (which pins do what).
It just dawned on me that my Apple to PC floppy adaptor can do more than I
realised. Considering it is already tapped into just about every aspect of
the floppy connector, and runs at a comfortable 12MHz, it should be
possible to write a neat little program to work as a SmartPort device.
What will it store information on?
Excellent question.... erm...
Ah! I have a serial flash eeprom thing for use with uCs. The uC also
supports SPI which I believe most SD cards speak. And as of a few days ago
I can finally retire my horrible 16MB xD card.
Not an easy project I know, but an external card based media could be
interesting.
It'll do anyway until I actually make something of my USB project which
seems to be the poor cousin of other ones.
For now, I'm heading into the back room to borrow one of my IIe's drives.
Tristan.
