I've got a few 140KB disk images stored on this (Windows) computer I'd
like to transfer over to my IIGS and physical 5.25" diskettes instead
of merely using on the KEGS emulator. While I've no doubt that I can
use CiderPress to make DiskCopy-acceptable ProDOS images to load them
onto (to be transferred onto ProDOS floppies using my Mac LC), what's
the best-recommended disk utility for writing .DSK images to actual
5.25s (off of a bootable ProDOS floppy)?

After getting the images onto a 3.5" disk on the Mac, I used to take
the disk to my //e and use UNFORKIT to remove the resource forks, and
FILE2DISK to write the images out to real 5.25" disks.

I'm sure there are more modern alternatives, but it works fine.

After posting that, I realized that you have a more trouble-free
method available to you.

Use CiderPress to convert the images you are interested in to full-
disk ShrinkIt archives. Then move the disk (or whatever) to your
IIgs and use ShrinkItGS to unpack them onto real disks. ShrinkItGS
can open forked files directly, and is tolerant of random filetypes.
