I didn't try it, but it should be possible to use any normal copying program
to read a real floppy and write to an image on an MMC.

In theory my floppy emulation can be near perfect in a sense that
half-tracks and even
quarter tracks can be emulated. But more involved firmware is needed and a
new
format for nibbles that indicates half-tracks, 36 an 40 uS sync bytes etc.

I have deliberately used an oversized AVR chip in terms of memory space so
that a lot of firmware
can be added.
It also has 2 UARTS so it is easy to add a nice fast and buffered serial
port.

The only thing that bothers me is the physical construction with a switch
accessable
from the outside.
