I am certain that there was an overlap - I seem to recall seeing a
pricelist that had both systems on it.

According to http://apple2history.org/history/ah06.html the transition
occured 2nd quarter 1979.

Not sure. I do know that Apple says the one millionth Apple II was sold
in June 1983 but this would include Apple II, II+ and some IIe
computers.
